House Kheperu was founded by Michelle Belanger in 1996, and formally named in 1998. We successfully applied for nonprofit status in 2017. While some of our members prefer not to post detailed biographies or photos, a brief and incomplete introduction to our House is below.
Michelle Belanger: Founder
Raised Catholic, Michelle always wanted to be a priest and an author. Michelle’s interest in the occult has led to the writing and publication of more than 30 books on a wide variety of occult topics, along with TV appearances on documentaries, A&E’s hit reality show, Paranormal State, and the Travel Channel’s Portals to Hell.
Eilfie Music: Ally
Eilfie grew up in a Pagan household where the Occult was synonymous with everyday life. From 2007-2011 Eilfie was a regular on A&E series Paranormal State as a researcher in occult knowledge. She continues to investigate the paranormal. She lives in PA with her partner Jax, and many, many cats.
GES: Ally
Ges, an ally of House Kheperu, is a ceremonial magickian and a Vajrayana practitioner ordained in the Gelug tradition. Buddhist studies have been under the graces of a local lama of the Karma Kagyu sect and a Rinpoche of the Gelug sect. Ceremonial practices are largely Solomonic and grimoiric, and influenced by the Golden Dawn and Thelemic models. A focus on death, dying, the energy body, and practical “real-world” magick have always driven Ges’s practices.
Elyria Little: Counselor Path
Elyria (they/he/hers) is a poet, small business owner, adventurer, and will-worker. Elyria has published two books of poems; "singing my mother down: poems of grief, love, and renewal," and “labyrinth: poems from the path to wholeness." A First Degree member of the Counselor Path, Elyria enjoys deep-diving into energy work and shadow work, and encouraging others to do the same. Syre: Priest Path
As a Black, queer, gender expansive, polyamorous, and kinky healing practitioner Syre (he/him) is passionate about working with those who are traditionally marginalized / pathologized / othered in society and underrepresented in help seeking environments. Syre practices from a liberation centered intersectional / multidimensional feminist perspective with the goal of collaborating with folx toward embodied liberation. Syre is fully invested in living a passion filled and expansive life. He is committed to energy work and psychedelic medicine as a path toward liberation and healing intergenerational wounds. Syre is also a Will Worker and Pleasure Advocate and believes that harnessing the energy of pleasure toward the manifestation of change in accordance with Will is central to his healing path.
Gryphon: Warrior Path
Gryphon has studied, practiced, and taught the Occult for over 30 years. Prior to becoming a member of House Kheperu in 2005, he was the founding member of other spiritual groups in Columbus, Ohio. His interests include: weapons (specifically the bladed sort), science fiction, forbidden history, handcrafting (wood, plastics, leather, metal, etc.), camping / hiking, and a whole sack full of other things. Paul: Priest Path
Paul is a progressionist Priest with a focus on Eastern religions. He specializes in philosophical Taoism and general cosmology.
Shae: Counselor Path
Shae's interests include Energy working of all types, understanding empathic emotion, vision, past life memories, otherkin / vampire / therian lifestyles, subtle reality, druidity, panspirituality, celtic folklore, anthropology, theoretical physics, stained glass, metal working, leatherworking, chainmail, crafting and building things.
Suz: Aspirant
Raised between Traditional Native American beliefs and Celtic paganism Suz married into Asatru and has made a home for herself comfortably between the three. As an artist and maker she applies aspects of her personal magical practice into her work. Suz is certified in the Silva Method, a registered Reiki practitioner and has worked with energetic healing for over 40 years. She came into the house Ritual practice as a Counselor and has transitioned to Priest over time. A natural empath, Suz has always strived to be the kind of person who treats others the way she would like to be treated providing her with a unique perspective on life, death and everything in between.
